Speakers:Diannee Carden-Glenn and Ronni Marks ekiM For Change is a non-profit syringe exchange and public health initiative committed to serving individuals who are in need of harm reduction services without judgment in a non-hostile environment. Hepatitis C Mentor and Support Group was founded to address the lack of education and supportive services in underserved communities. To address these needs, HCMSG provide resources and services to other organizations, hospitals, clinics, and syringe exchange programs. |

Alain Litwin, MD, MPH, MS
Dr. Litwin is vice chair of academics and research at Prisma Health, executive director of the Addiction Research Center and professor of medicine at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine - Greenville and the Clemson University School of Health Research. He serves on several councils dedicated to eliminating opioed related overdses and developed a comprehensive HCV treatment program and peer program to improve medical care of HCV-infected people who use drugs. He is the principal investigator of the national HERO study and serves on the executive board for the International Network on Hepatitis in Substance Users (INHSU). |

Shuchin Shukla, MD, MPH
Dr. Shukla is a faculty physician and Opioid Crisis Educator at Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville, NC, and an associate clinical professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the School of Medicine, University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. His clinical and academic work focus on HIV, Hepatitis C, transgender health, substance use disorders, marginalized populations, and population health. |
