HEPATITIS C MENTOR AND SUPPORT GROUP PRESENTS

Below is a pre recording of a Live Webinar Round Table to discuss Hepatitis C screening and treatment for an often overlooked population. This webinar was held in a Q&A format where the experts in their field provided key facts and information about addressing the very real risk issue of Hepatitis C in children, adolescents, young adults, and pregnant people.
Speakers:​

Dr. Tatyana Kushner MD
Dr. Tatyana Kushner is a leader in the management of hepatitis C, hepatitis B, and other liver diseases during pregnancy. Dr. Kushner works with patients in the division of liver diseases and in obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive science. Her clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of liver diseases, with a focus on viral hepatitis (hepatitis b, c, and d) and individuals with liver disease, including pregnancy-related liver conditions and reproductive health as it pertains to liver disease.

Dr. Nadia Ovchinsky, MD, MBA
Dr. Nadia Ovchinsky is the Director of Pediatric Hepatology, Medical Director of Pediatric Liver Transplantation, and a Professor of Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine – Children’s Hospital at Montefiore. Dr. Ovchinsky received her MD and MBA in Healthcare Management from Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed her pediatric residency, pediatric gastroenterology fellowship, as well as advanced training in pediatric transplant hepatology at Columbia University - Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian.

Dr. Brianna Norton
Dr. Brianna Norton is an assistant professor of medicine in the divisions of general internal medicine and infectious diseases at Albert Einstein College of medicine/Montefiore medical center. Her clinical work includes the treatment of HIV, hepatitis c and opioid dependence in the primary care setting. She conducts research to improve linkage to HCV care and treatment for people who inject drugs. She is also the medical director of the NY harm reduction educators, a syringe exchange program in East Harlem and the south Bronx.

Dr Adriana Perez
Dr Adriana Perez is a postdoctoral fellow in the pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition division of Children’s Hospital at Montefiore. Her clinical interests are caring for children with advanced liver disease, including children who received a liver transplant. Her research interests focus on developing innovative strategies to improve health outcomes for children with hepatitis C, specifically investigating screening and treatment barriers for HCV in all children ≤ 21 years of age
